Interior design in 2025 is all about creating spaces that feel grounded, sensory-rich, and emotionally soothing. As people continue to seek comfort and connection in their homes, designers are leaning into nature-inspired elements, tactile experiences, and fluid forms. Based on current trends and predictions for 2025, here are three top trending things in interior design.
Biophilic Design & Earthy/Natural Elements
This trend continues to grow, focusing on bringing the outdoors in. Expect to see an increase in indoor plants, green walls, natural materials such as wood, stone, and rattan, and colour palettes inspired by nature (think earthy neutrals, calming sage, and tranquil blues). The emphasis is on creating a sense of well-being and connection to the natural world, within the home.

Texture and Material Drenching
Moving beyond just colour, there's a substantial shift towards incorporating rich textures throughout a space. This can manifest in textured walls and ceilings (such as wallpaper, plaster, or wood panelling), plush textiles like velvet and mohair, and a concept known as "material drenching," where an entire room is decorated with a single dominant tactile material (e.g., all wood, all stone, or all fabric). This adds depth, warmth, and a sensory experience to interiors.

Curved Furniture and Softer Silhouettes
The harsh lines and sharp angles are out, and soft, inviting curves are in. This applies to everything from sofas and coffee tables to headboards and architectural elements. Curved furniture creates a more welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, adding a sense of flow and visual interest to a room. This trend often pairs well with the emphasis on comfort and coziness.
